Mavis' heart was breaking. Her eyes were red, but she forced herself to hold back her tears and comfort her crying child.

The two thugs were taken away by National Investigation Bureau officers who had arrived on the scene. Lionel, understanding the family's emotional state after their reunion, did not insist Nathaniel give an immediate statement at the bureau. Instead, he allowed them to take their child home to rest.

In the car ride home, Mavis could not bring herself to let go of Callum's hand. The chase through the park had drained the little guy, and he was sleeping peacefully on her lap.

Mavis gently examined Callum for injuries and noticed his right cheek was swollen and red. However, she could not tell if it was from a slap or a pinch. Not only that, but his delicate wrists bore marks from rope burns, tinged with purple and slightly scraped.

It was a painful sight for her,

Thankfully, these were all minor external injuries. While Callum was a bit traumatized, there were no serious wounds.

The car had a first aid kit prepared, and Nathaniel calmly took out the necessary supplies. While Callum slept and was unaware of the pain, he carefully disinfected and applied medicine to the little boy's wrists.

Nathaniel's movements were quick and steady, and Mavis could easily imagine how attentive he must have been caring for their son alone all these years.

After finishing the treatment, Nathaniel's face grew serious as he began to analyze the situation.

"I've reviewed all the hospital surveillance footage. These two men were never there, so they didn't take Callum from the hospital. Besides, he's not naive enough to go with strangers. Something doesn't add up here."

"You're right." Mavis nodded, sighing heavily. "Thank goodness we found him in time. If we'd been any later… I can't even imagine."

She gently stroked Callum's swollen cheek, her heart aching for him.

"Mommy…" came a soft, sleepy voice. Callum's little hand grasped Mavis' fingertips as he slowly opened his eyes, his sleepy gaze focusing on her face.

"Hey, sweetie. Why are you awake? Don't you want to sleep some more?" Mavis asked softly.

"It's true, Mommy. Please believe me. I saw it with my own eyes. Mr. Mueller's injury was Ms. Sullivan's plan. She did it on purpose to frame Daddy."

Mavis kissed his forehead reassuringly. "I'll always believe you, Callum. But right now, we only have your word and no other evidence. I'll tell Lionel everything you've said so the National Investigation Bureau can start investigating immediately."

"Okay!" Callum snuggled into Mavis' embrace, grumbling. Just thinking about those two made him angry.

"Callum," Nathaniel called, turning the boy to face him. "Did Tiffany catch you eavesdropping, and that's why she kidnapped you?"

Callum shook his head and spoke truthfully, "When I heard them plotting, I got so mad that I burst in to face them. I didn't know Ms. Sullivan knew martial arts. She knocked me out in no time."

Nathaniel frowned, his tone serious as he scolded, "Have you forgotten how old you are? These people are capable of framing others, so dealing with a child like you would be effortless. You didn't think about your own safety at all."
