I woke up and dressed before going downstairs. I ate breakfast then washed the dishes, dried them, and put them away. I grabbed my car keys and folder from the table by the door and placed my purse over my shoulder before walking out the door and locking it. As I walked over to my car, I heard the rumble of bikes coming down the road.
I watched as they rode by, and he looked at me. He makes my breath catch whenever I see him. I got into my car, backed out of my driveway. I drove to the nursing home, found a place to park, got out and walked inside. I walked over to the reception window. I explained that I wanted to fill out an application for the nursing assistant position.
The woman handed me an application and said, "please complete this and I will find out if Linnie is available to interview you today." I handed her the application and she asked me to follow her. I walked into the office of the director and sat down. After the interview, I accept the second shift position and I start Monday. I can wear any color uniform but white.
I was excited to be working again. It will take up my time and keep me busy. Since I don't have family, a husband, or kids, I will work overtime. I walked out of the nursing home and decided to go to Walmart and buy some uniforms and walked across the street to walk around the festival the town was having.
I saw several different booths that sold nice items. I walked to a booth selling cute dresses and was holding a green one up looking at it when I heard a voice. You would look beautiful in the color. I turned and looked up at a man wearing a cut and swallowed. I shyly said. Thank you. I like green too. I paid for the dress and took the bag the man handed me.
As I walked away, I noticed the biker watching me. I heard a band start playing so I walked toward the music. I love oldies. I bought a beer and sat down on a bench to listen to music for a while. Elizabeth asked me what I was looking at? The new woman in town I said. She is sitting over on that bench. We all soon walked over and sat down in the grass to listen to the music.
