Cassandra didn’t bother with small talk. “Let’s meet up. I have something important to discuss with you.” 

Stella was in her prime at the moment. She certainly didn’t want any unexpected issues to arise. 

“Forget it, we’ve gone our separate ways now. You live your life as the daughter of the Jamieson family and Mrs. Rainsworth, while I pursue my career as a superstar. Let’s not seek each other out anymore.” 

She was afraid of getting too close to her. She worried that if Nathaniel discovered something, he might retaliate against her.
