The gentle voice of a man came through the phone.
"Avery."
Avery immediately recognized the voice.
"Adrian!"
She had not expected Adrian to call her.
"Is this your number, or are you calling me with your family member’s phone?"
"My elder brother bought me a phone,"
Adrian said, "He bought it for me because I said that I wanted to call you."
Avery chuckled.
"Have you been discharged? How are you feeling?"
"I-"
Before Adrian could finish, a rough voice of a middle-aged man interrupted him.
"It’s late, Adrian, why aren’t you sleeping? Who are you talking to? The doctor said you need rest."
It was Adrian’s father.
"Give me your phone.I will give it back tomorrow."
Shortly after, the call ended.
Avery scowled at her phone after they hung up.
