Zayn took a deep breath and coldly demanded, "Besides you, who else around me is Joe's informant?"

Shawn immediately realized that crying and playing victim wouldn't work anymore. He gave up acting and slowly shook his head. "I don't know."

"If you give me two names, you can pack up and leave. But if you don't name a single person, I'll charge you with fraud. I won't make big promises, but I can easily get you ten years in prison."

Zayn lit a cigarette and gave him a cold, piercing stare. "You have one minute to decide."

He set a timer and threw the clock straight at Shawn's face.

The sharp corner of the clock cut Shawn's cheek, making him bleed. But he didn't dare to resist. He could only stare at the countdown, which had less than 30 seconds left. Only when the timer hit the final second did he finally speak. "Caleb and David from the budget department."

"Get out." Just two words, but to Shawn, it felt like a royal pardon. He scrambled to his feet and ran out of the office as if his life depended on it, only to crash straight into Nadine at the door.

Nadine frowned at the sight of him and questioned, "Mr. Middleton, on Zayn's account, you…"

Before she could finish, Shawn had already rushed off in a panic.

Zayn leaned back in his chair, slowly exhaling a puff of white smoke without answering.

Nadine touched her stomach and frowned. "You're smoking right in front of me. Aren't you worried it'll affect the baby?"

Zayn continued smoking, unbothered. But after a few seconds, he still put out the cigarette and got up to open the window.

There were only two people who could have accessed those records—Shawn and Joe.

Shawn would never expose himself, which meant there was only one other possibility—Joe.

Zayn didn't know what Joe's intentions were, but he couldn't care less. He just wanted to get rid of the rats around him.

Nadine continued, "Maybe she bribed Shawn. Don't forget, Shawn was hired by her. What if he's been her spy all along? You shouldn't trust her so much. By the time you realize the truth, it'll be too late."

Zayn resisted the urge to curse and gave her a look of pure disdain. "You bought all those supplements, right? For your body and your bones. Next time, buy some for your brain too, so you don't give birth to an idiot."

Nadine's face darkened. "Zayn! How can you say that? How can you talk about our child like that?"
