Yvan looked completely indifferent. "Who you call is your business. No need to run it by me," he replied flatly.

Josephine remained silent.

Who else was she supposed to discuss it with if not him?

In all of Sunvale, the only people connected to Zayn were herself, Yvan, and Nadine.

But Josephine had absolutely no desire to talk to Nadine.

Seeing Yvan was unwilling to help, she turned to Ethan. After a brief hesitation, she decided against it.

Ethan had already done her a huge favor by coming over. She couldn't drag him any further into this.

Forget it. She would just find a nurse.

With that thought, she stood up and headed for the door.

To her surprise, Yvan followed. Exasperated, she sighed. "I'm not leaving. I just need to ask the nurse something. Stay here and keep an eye on him.

Yvan scoffed. "For what? The doctor already said he's fine. You think staring at him is going to make him wake up faster?"

"You should still stay. Otherwise, I'll leave for real," she replied firmly and shot him a glare.

Then, she pushed the door open and walked out with a face full of displeasure.

Once she left, only Yvan and Ethan remained in the hospital room.

Ethan had been silent since Yvan arrived. Now that Josephine had left, he became even more reserved.

He leaned against the window quietly. His gaze was fixed on a random spot in the room. No one could tell what he was thinking.
