Chapter 21 

Josephine’s voice cut through the air, cold and sharp 

“I already told you, I won’t let anyone risult my friends in front of me! And Nadine, do you even realize that the man you’re mocking is none other than Simon Chandler, the inest renowned screenwriter in the industry?” 

Samon Chandler? 

The name left Josephine’s lips like a thunderclap, and a wave of gasps rippled through the crowd gathered around them. 

the Simon Chandler? The one whose total box office warnings hit 480 million dollars?” 

“No way! I heard he moved to Hubwood to work on bigger projects. “ 

“Isn’t he worth over 100 million dollars now? He invested in that movie with the 300 million–dollar box office hit, it’s rumored he made a fortune from his share of the profits.” 

Even Zom froze, his mind racing. 

Zam had spent a small fortune trying to hire Simon to write the screenplay for his new project, only to be flat–out rejected. He hadn’t even managed to secure a meeting, not even so much as a dinner. 

And now, the man himself was standing right in front of him? 

Nadine’s jaw practically hit the floor, she was utterly stunned. 

“You’re lying! How could you possibly know Simon Chandler? He’s one of the most sought–after screenwriters in the industry! Besides, the guest list for tonight’s party was leaked online ages ago. If Simon were coming, everyone would’ve known!” Nadine stammered. 

Josephine’s expression turned even colder. She reached for Simon’s wrist, her grip firm but reassuring. 

“Believe it or not, I don’t care. Let’s go, we’ll find somewhere else to talk” 

Simon hadn’t expected Josephine to defend him sa fiercely, his gratitude and disbelief swirled together. Finally, he nodded, still dazed, and obediently followed her lead 

But they’d barely taken a couple of steps when Zayn reached out and grabbed Simon’s arm 

“You’re really Simon Chandlery demanded. 

Simon frowned, his expression firm as he mustered the courage to shake off Zayn’s hand. “You can look me up online. There are plenty of photos of me 

there.” 

Without sparing Zayn another glance, he turned and quickly caught up to Josephine. 

As soon as Simon said those words, the surrounding crowd seemed to snap out of their daze. Almost in unison, they began pulling out their phones to search for his name. 

Though Simon kept a relatively low profile, he had attended numerous movie premieres and interviews. 

A quick search brought up his photos almost instantly. 

“Oh my god” It really is hir 

“I should’ve asked for his autograph earlier, I love his movies! 

“He’s such an honest guy. There’s no way he’d do something shady like that. Those two were the ones causing trouble.” 

“Exactly! Especially Nadine, she’s barely been in the spotlight for five minutes, and she’s our here humiliating someone like Simon? What a joke.” 

“Forget about it. There’s no way she’s getting cast in any of Simon’s films now. Honestly, the whole industry might blacklist her just to show solidarity 

with him ” 

As the murmurs rippled through the crowd, Nadine’s face turned as white as a sheet. Her whole body began trembling like a beat in the wind.
