She was taken aback, “What do you mean? I didn’t say I wanted to withdraw the case.” 

The police flipped through a page of documents impatiently and pointed forcefully, saying. “Ms. Lindsey, we have already questioned Ms. Melendez. She said she was just joking around and had too much to drink, but you intentionally pushed her into the water, causing multiple injuries all over her body. This is her medical report.” 

“We have investigated the surveillance around the abandoned swimming pool, and there is nothing suspicious. However, Ms. Melendez has an eyewitness who can testify that you had a sudden mental illness and pushed her into the pool.” 

“This is the mental health certificate issued by you in the hospital, with both personal testimony and physical evidence.” 

“However, Ms. Melendez does not intend to pursue you, dropping the case is also a good thing for you.” 

After the police finished speaking, they immediately stuffed the pen into Beatrice’s hand without any further explanation. 

No matter what she said or did, the case had to be withdrawn. 

Xander stood with his hands on his hips and sneered, “What a disgrace!” 

Beatrice’s hand trembled as she gripped the pen, and the people in front of her seemed like demons, baring their fangs and pouncing towards 

her. 

Beatrice’s cold gaze swept over the people in front of her, finally settling on the middle–aged police officer standing before her. 

“Are you Sara’s uncle?” 

“I enforced the law impartially, with reason and evidence. I hope you understand.” 

He did not answer Beatrice’s question right away, instead he stood with his back straight, giving the impression of being exceptionally upright. 

But his subconscious glance towards Sara’s eyes still betrayed him. 

Beatrice chuckled and said, “Sorry, I don’t agree with your enforcement. I just called the police not long ago, and Ms. Melendez already has all the injury reports, while I still have two reports that haven’t come out yet.” 

“Ms. Melendez was indeed a prophet.” 

“Moreover, you police did not approach me to take my statement. Since when did the victim’s statement become the basis when the victim had not even reported the incident?”
