Before Hughle and his men could give chase, Waldo and Priscilla had already returned.

Priscilla was still dazed, not yet fully recovered from the chaos of the battle.

In the past, it was always the soldiers who charged into enemy lines. Both Waldo and Hughie had led their troops before while Priscilla was always the protected one, shielded by countless comrades.

But this time, when Priscilla charged out alone, with no one left to shield her, those deadly arrows actually came flying straight at her.

Her horse was struck down by a hail of arrows, an arrowhead grazing her arm, while another whistled past her face, leaving a searing pain burning across her cheek.

If Waldo hadn’t arrived just in time to yank her back, she would have already ended up like that horse.

“Your Highness Your Highness!” Hughie and several lieutenants rushed over, supporting the arrow–struck Waldo as they quickly retreated.

Priscilla was jostled by someone in the chaos, snapping her out of her dare.

None of the men gave her a second glance. They felt that this kind of small injury would heal in no time.

If her face were properly disfigured, perhaps Waldo would stop favoring her. Then he might reconcile with Jessica. Now that was what everyone wanted

to see!

“My face…” Priscilla whimpered, her fingers trembling as they hovered over the scratch.

“Your face… is fine!” Waldo gasped from nearby, glaring at her. “Sit down… stop… shouting, or FL. have you court martialed!”

He was absolutely furious.

Blood was still gushing from the arrow wound in his shoulder when another arrow struck his abdomen. He was hanging by a thread,

Hughie tore open his shirt, ripped off a piece of fabric, and pressed it hard against Waldo’s abdominal wound.

But the arrow was still lodged in Waldo’s wound, and the bleeding just wouldn’t stop. Hughie had no idea how to treat him, and their medic had already been killed by stray arrows in the earlier choos.
