Of the Free Collection stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is When Petals Meet The Blade (Priscilla and Waldo). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to My Blood 84. Let's read the author's When Petals Meet The Blade (Priscilla and Waldo) Free Collection story right here.
Chapter 84
The lady Waldo loves? They didn’t know what Adele meant by that
Waldo had previously been engaged to Jessica. The two families had called off the wedding amicably just before it was to take place.
Later, humers spread that the engagement was broken off because Waldo had fallen for a woman he brought back from the borderlands
for Adele to bring this up here and now. It seemed she was planning to ask the King to bestow a marriage between Waldo and Priscilla
All eyes, after a briel wave of confusion, turned toward Jessica, Even Monita was looking at her.
Jessica’s face had grown noticeably pale, confirming everyone’s suspicions.
Adele was clearly asking for a marriage decree for Waldo and Priscilla
Sure enough, they soon heard Adele continue, “Your Majesty, as a mother, I worry for my son. I boldly beg you. If Waldo manages to win even a hint of victory in this duel, please grant him the honor of marrying the woman he loves.”
Of course, in a final duel, one either won or lost.
Adele had only phrased it this way to save face for Malik,
The King looked at her, and Adele returned a serene, graceful smile.
After a moment’s hesitation, the King suddenly laughed aloud. “Very well I grant your request, my dear consort.”
Satisfied, Adele gracefully sat back down.
But the Queen looked absolutely grim. Once again, Adele was meddling in her plans.
The audience stirred with whispers and sighs.
Just recently, Waldo and Jessica had called off their engagement. And now, in such a public and dramatic fashion, he was about to be granted a marriage to Priscilla To Jessica, it was nothing short of a public humillation
Monica’s eyes were red with anger. “This is too much!”
Garbisch looked at his sister, heart aching, but there was nothing he could do. He could only speak gently. “Jessica… don’t mind them.”
Jessica nodded silently, lowering her gaze
Monica bit her lip in fury. “I hope Waldo loses badly. Then we’ll see how he dares to ask the King for a marriage decree with Priscila!”
She thought these two people were just too shameless.
After all, Adele had said if Waldo won, he could marry the woman he loved. If he lost, there’d be no wedding
Monica couldn’t stand to see Waldo and Priscilla together, especially not after how they’d hurt Garbisch and Jessica.
On the stage, formalities concluded, the duel began in earnest.
Monica and Garbisch both watched anxiously, their eyes locked on the fight. But from the look of things, neither side had a clear upper hand.
Malik had a strange, elusive sword style. He was clearly a master who hid his strength.
And Waldo, the famed war god, had undeniably deep, formidable martial skills.
