When Sierra discovered it, her heart nearly leaped out of her chest. She slapped Dickson across the face and exclaimed sharply. “What good does this de besides hurting those who care and pleasing your enemies? Didn’t you want to know how your sister died: Fine. I’ll tell you; she was tortured to death by a beast, tortured just like they did to you, only worse. If you die, who will seek justice for her?”
Previously, she had withheld these details to keep Dickson from falling into a pit of hatred and losing his life. Now, she couldn’t afford such considerations.
After all he’d been through, Dickson had lost his will to live, and she had to give him something to hold onto.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Dickson looked at Sierra as if awakening from a deep sleep. “You know who it is, don’t you? Tell me. Sierra, please tell me. I want to kill him; I have to kill him!”
Dickson was extremely emotional; only those who had experienced it firsthand could understand the agony. He couldn’t imagine Daphne’s experiences being even worse than his own.
He thought his own ordeals were hellish, but they were not.
He
Sierra watched hifn coldly, “What can you do in this state?”
He’d likely be dealt with before he even got to Kason. Dickson froze as if struck by a blow.
Seeing him calm down, Sierra pulled him to sit, “Seeking revenge? The last thing you need is impulsiveness. Remember this hatred, turn it into motivation, and make yourself stronger. Dickson, we’re up against no ordinary people. Their vast wealth puts them above many. If you really want to avenge your sister and not just be a fool, you need to start growing up now!”
Dickson finally calmed down, as if he had grown up overnight. “Okay, Sierra, I’ll listen to you.”
Watching Dickson finally fall asleep, Sierra breathed a sigh of relief and quietly left his room.
Just then, the door was knocked; it was Jonathan bringing her some papers. With Dickson’s condition uncertain, she couldn’t step away and had to ask Jonathan to help with taking leave.
“How is it?”
Seeing her look worn out, Jonathan grew increasingly annoyed with Dickson.
Had he known it would be this troublesome, he wouldn’t have stopped him earlier, letting Dickson go to Brendan and avoiding today’s issues,
“It’s quieted down. But, I don’t know if what I did was right.”
In order to give Dickson a reason to live, she had revealed Daphne’s situation, “You’ve already done more than enough!”
Jonathan couldn’t help but say, “Sierra, you’re only two years older yourself! Take better care of yourself!”
But something stirred in Sierra’s heart; she couldn’t help but look up at Jonathan, whose eyes nearly betrayed his deep concern and warmth for her. She quickly averted her gaze.
“By the way, did that research report get through?”
She changed the subject. Noticing her discomposure, Jonathan went along with her, “It passed, and it’ll be published in a few days, causing a ur in the academic world.
Then good, get back to your research.”
With all the recent events, Sierra had been forced to pause her research.
