For the first time, Sierra saw Jonathan without his glasses. Without the lenses to shield them, his eyes were clearly visible- ferocious, piercing, with a natural disdain that could never belong to a gentle person.

If she had first met this version of Jonathan, she definitely wouldn’t have engaged with him further.

Perhaps it was Sierra’s comment about his persona crumbling that made Jonathan drop all pretenses. He leaned against his car, the scholarly and gentle aura vanished, replaced by a dangerous and austere yet captivating presence,

Jonathan brought the conversation back to the issue at hand. “Now, tell me, what did Shane do to you?”

Sierra instinctively looked at Jonathan, “You know who he is?”

She didn’t recall ever mentioning Shane’s name, but Jonathan had pinpointed him exactly.

“I know him! He’s the warden of the women’s prison.”

Seeing the surprise on Sierra’s face, Jonathan casually mentioned, “That can be looked up”

What he didn’t tell Sierra was that the deputy warden usually handled external affairs, and even the Xander family had only dealt with the deputy. Few knew about Shane’s existence.

Sierra said, “He’s a madman with a lot of blood on his hands. Jonathan, just leave it be!”

Sierra looked down, perhaps thinking about Jonathan’s background, which, despite its strength, couldn’t stand against sheer power and influence.

Shane’s boldness suggested a powerful backing, confident that no evidence of his deeds was left out in the open. Kason certainly didn’t know his actions were being broadcast live, even right in front of her.

No one knew how Shane managed it. Seeing she was still reluctant to speak, Jonathan’s gaze darkened slightly, but he didn’t press further and instead stepped back.

Wanting to shift her away from fear, he changed the subject, “By the way, what were you about to tell me over the phone?”

Hearing this, Sierra smiled, “Jonathan, I succeeded. My theories over the past few days have been validated; I’m just at the final verification stage now. If there are no issues, we can proceed to clinical trials!”

This news was beyond Jonathan’s expectations.
