Chapter 196 Unexpected Plus–Ones
As Sierra was about to move, Jonathan pressed her hand down.
“No need to fuss; I ordered a meal from the restaurant, and they’ll deliver it soon.”
He didn’t fancy cooking for Mateo, and the thought of Sierra doing it hadn’t even crossed his mind. He rarely had a proper meal himself. Why should I prepare for Mateo!
Unaware of Jonathan’s thoughts, Sierra felt relieved upon hearing about the meal and then inquired about his friend.
“Is it the guy who helped with this?” She pointed to the earrings she was wearing.
“Yeah, I have a few friends, and this time it’s him. Don’t worry about him later; don’t treat him like a guest. After we eat, he’ll be gone.”
Jonathan’s tone was full of disdain for Mateo.
Though it was disdainful, Sierra knew their relationship was genuinely close; otherwise, Jonathan wouldn’t talk this way. Sierra smiled and nodded. Around noon, the doorbell rang, and Jonathan guessed it was Mateo, so he went to answer it. He had just opened the door when he abruptly slammed it shut.
Startled by his action, Sierra quickly asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, wrong door!” He replied just as the doorbell rang again, accompanied by voices outside.
“Mr. Yeager, we’re here!”
“Open up. Mr. Yeager!”
Sierra looked at Jonathan in confusion. Wasn’t it supposed to be just one person?
Jonathan also looked helpless, “They all came!”
As he spoke, he opened the door, and indeed, there stood three tall, well–built, stylishly different handsome men.
Sierra paused for a moment, then instinctively greeted, “Hello!”
The three tall men smiled at Sierra and introduced themselves,
“Hello, I’m Maddox!”
Just then, another figure squeezed past them, looking more disheveled than the neatly dressed trio, as if he had just been through a rough crowd.
Initially nervous around the tall strangers, Sierra relaxed and smiled at Mateo’s words.
