Knowing what Bradley was thinking, Sierra chose not to expose him. For the Xander family, spending money was just a way to ease their conscience.

She only hoped Bradley wouldn’t regret giving her the house later. After all, her purpose for approaching Kason was far from simple.

The Xander family acted quickly. In just a single day, her observation period and household registration issues were all settled.

From this moment on, she was completely severed from the Xander family. A lightness she had never felt before filled her chest. She wanted to share this joy with someone and couldn’t help but call Jonathan.

“Mr. Yeager, are you free? I’d like to treat you to a meal.”

Ironically, the only person she could think of to share her happiness with was Jonathan.

There was no reply from him, only the sound of soft breathing.

“Jonathan?”

Sierra called out again. This time, she finally got a response.

“Alright,” Jonathan said.

After hanging up, Jonathan glanced at the screen in front of him, which was filled with blood. He tapped his finger lightly and spoke. “It’s done.”

As he spoke, he picked up the glasses resting on the table and put them on, hiding the cold glint in his eyes. Once again, he became the refined Mr. Yeager.

Sierra took Jonathan out for barbecue, but after sitting down, she felt the choice was a bit inappropriate.

She had a feeling Jonathan belonged–in an upscale restaurant, dining with precision and elegance, not in a place filled with the smoky scent of grilled meat.

She couldn’t help but say, “Mr. Yeager, let’s go somewhere else.”

She felt he didn’t fit in here at all.

Jonathan raised an eyebrow and glanced at her. “Why change? This place is fine.”

As he spoke, he took off his suit jacket, unbuttoned his cuffs, and rolled up his sleeves to his elbows before grilling a plate of beef.

The sense of disharmony instantly faded, replaced by a touch of warmth.

Seeing this, Sierra couldn’t help but say, “I just feel like this place is beneath you.”

Then, she laughed at herself. “You give me the feeling of someone who should be worshipped on an altar.”

As if untouched by the mundane world.

Jonathan chuckled at her words. “Are you complimenting me or mocking me?”

“Complimenting! Definitely a compliment! I’m in a great mood today, and I wanted someone to celebrate with. But aside from you, my grandma, and my newly adopted little brother, I don’t know who else to call. Grandma and Dickson can’t eat this kind of food, so we’ll celebrate again when they’re better.”

Sierra rambled on, her happiness evident.

She was usually more reserved, but today, her eyes sparkled with joy.

Jonathan watched her for a moment before speaking. “Your condition for cutting ties with the Xander family was marrying Kason. Are you really this happy about it?”

“Of course!” Sierra’s lips curved into a smile. “I can’t wait to see him.”

A flash of cold malice passed through her eyes.

Jonathan didn’t know her exact plan, but seeing her expression, he could guess.

Recalling what he had heard about Kason, he had some ideas about what might be driving her.

Perhaps it was related to that woman, Daphne.

Sierra had been acting strangely ever since she fell ill.

Jonathan had a hunch about her motives, but he didn’t understand. She had always claimed that she and Daphne were merely acquaintances, yet she was willing to go this far for someone she barely knew.

He couldn’t help but ask, “Kason isn’t an easy target. Have you really thought this through?”
