Lemira couldn't find peace whenever she thought about that photograph.

Evelina's father was still alive!

The car accident from years ago was definitely more than it seemed.

Asher, with a hint of suspicion in his voice, stated, “Lemira, what are you implying? Eve's father is dead. After he saved you, he went back to save my parents and died in the explosion with them.”

“If he died in the explosion, it would be hard to recognize his face, right? Are you sure the man who died was Evelina's father?”

“Of course, I am. I saw the car that belonged to Evelina's father myself. There’s no mistake.”

Lemira frowned, “No mistake?”

The middle-aged man she saw in the photo was indeed Evelina's father.

With a cool tone, Lemira said, “What if Evelina's father didn’t die?”

“That’s impossible, Lemira. Are you making up excuses to not feel indebted to Eve? By saying her father is still alive?”

“You think I haven’t investigated the accident? The only lead I found was its connection to the Sinclair family, nothing else. If you’re so capable, why don’t you investigate?”

Lemira took a deep breath, “Besides the Sinclair family, our driver had no issues?”

Asher hadn’t doubted it, nor found anything amiss?

“Lemira, Eve’s father is dead. Why are you still fixated on a dead man? What’s the point?”

Hearing this, Lemira realized the Langston family never suspected the driver.
