Caspian was taken aback when he heard that.

Before he could react, Lucian jumped in, “Asher, you can't do this.”

“Lucian, if we don’t take action first, do you want Caspian to end up behind bars like Alaric? If you have a solution, I’m all ears.”

Lucian knew this was a tough situation to navigate.

He sighed, “But Lemira is the victim here, she hasn’t done anything wrong. It’s Evelina who stirred up trouble and caused this mess. Why should Lemmy back down?”

“I get there's been a misunderstanding, but can’t this just be sorted out privately, without making such a big scene?”

Asher felt Lemira was being unreasonable, unwilling to take a step back or compromise.

Lucian was too frustrated to articulate a response.

Asher turned to Caspian, “If you don’t follow my advice, you might as well get ready for jail time. Lemira will never let you off the hook.”

Caspian remained silent for a moment, contemplating. The last thing he wanted was to ruin his life over this.

Seizing the opportunity, Evelina cooed at Asher, “Asher, don’t be so upset. It’s partly my fault that Lemmy stormed out.”

Asher felt a twinge of guilt, “Then, you’ve been wronged. I happen to have an Aurora Trust; I’ll let you manage it.”

Still, she feigned modesty, “Asher, I might not be capable enough, but I’ll do my best not to disappoint you.”

Caspian was furious, “Asher, you’re actually covering for Evelina and compensating her with the foundation. Didn’t you say it was meant for Lemira?”

“Who Eve is is not for you to remind me.”

Asher replied calmly, “Lemira refuses to compromise, and Eve has suffered enough. What’s wrong with a little compensation?”

Evelina bowed her head, pretending, “Asher, maybe I shouldn’t accept it.”

“Evelina, cut the act!”
