She raised her hand and sent the plate in Zack’s hands flying, her eyes glinting with a frosty chill.

Her face was stone cold, "Get this straight, you're just a butler, not someone who gets to boss me around."

Zack was visibly annoyed, "Ms. Sterling, I might just be a servant, but I still have the right to speak the truth!"

"Oh, and why should I listen?"

When Lemira returned to the Langston's, her patience had run dry. She used to think she could just watch from the sidelines and not take it to heart.

But some people just had to push their luck! Like the butler, for instance!

"Lemmy, what happened?"

Lucian rushed up after hearing from the servants that something was amiss, and upon seeing the spilled food, he instinctively asked, "Didn't the meal suit your taste?"

Zack looked as if he was on the verge of tears, "Mr. Lucian Langston, I was merely advising Ms. Langston not to eat alone in her room, to avoid gossip. But she not only spilled the food but also said I, being a mere servant, had no right to say such things."

Lucian frowned, "Zack, indeed, you're not in a position to say that to her."

Zack was stunned, not expecting Lucian to take Lemira's side this time!

Evelina immediately stood by the butler, "Lucian, Zack meant well. He's been with the Langston family for so many years, just like my dad. Even though he's a servant, he's been loyal."

Lucian's expression softened at those words, "That's not what I meant."

"Everyone out!" Lemira didn't want to see them anymore.

Lucian said, "I'll have someone clean up and bring another meal up shortly."

He then left the room, turning to the butler, "From now on, show some respect to Lemmy. If it's not your place to say it, then don't."

Lucian had just realized that even a butler dared to lecture Lemira. It seemed over the years, they had indeed neglected Lemira, allowing the servants to follow suit. He wasn't doing his job as her brother.
