Karol, visibly anxious, was the one they were blocking.

"Let me in!" she insisted.

"This is Ms. Gomez's private lounge," one of the bodyguards replied coldly. "Please leave immediately."

"I..." Karol's brow furrowed as she pointed towards the room, urgency in her voice. "I'm here to see her!"

The bodyguard remained unfazed. "Do you think Ms. Gomez is someone anyone can just drop in to see?"

Karol was taken aback, "I'm her friend! My name is Karol! If you tell her I'm here, she'll meet with me!"

The two bodyguards exchanged a look.

One of them said, "I'll check with Candida."

"Alright," the other replied, maintaining his stance in front of Karol.

After contacting Candida, she promptly appeared, her voice sharp, "Who's causing all this commotion?"

"It's her," the bodyguard explained, "She claims to be Karol, a friend of Ms. Gomez."

"Karol?" Candida echoed.

"Yes!" Karol looked at them with pleading eyes, "I'm not lying. I really am Sherilyn's friend."

"Hmph," Candida gave her a once-over, a faint, icy smile playing on her lips. "So, you're the infamous Karol."

"?" Karol was puzzled, "You know me? Did Sherilyn mention me? Then please, let me in..."

She moved to push past them.

"Hold it right there!"

Candida stepped in, blocking her path. "I've heard of you because Mr. Nine himself mentioned you!"

"What?"

Karol flinched at the name, "Him?"

Candida signaled to the bodyguards, "Mr. Nine made it clear—this Karol is not on good terms with Ms. Gomez. She must not be allowed near her. Understood?"

"Understood!"

"Understood!"

Seeing that force wouldn't work, Karol resorted to pleading.

"I'm begging you, just let me see her for a moment."

"If you don't leave, we'll have to get rough," the bodyguard warned, looking menacing.

Karol rubbed her sore arm where they had grabbed her, finally realizing she couldn't force her way through. She bit her lip and walked away.

As soon as she was out of sight, Candida picked up her phone to inform Gilbert.

"Got it," Gilbert replied, sounding pleased. "Good job, keep in mind, this woman is trouble, she must not get near Sherilyn."

"Understood, Mr. Nine."

The lounge door opened, and Sherilyn stepped out.

Candida quickly put away her phone and approached her. "Ms. Gomez, the car's waiting out front."

"Great, thanks," Sherilyn replied.

Tonight, Sherilyn wouldn't be returning to Blue Haven.

Gilbert was occupied at Silver Lake Manor and couldn't make it back tonight due to a meeting early the next morning. He couldn't go a night without Sherilyn, so arrangements were made for her to be brought to Silver Lake Manor.
