Gilbert really wanted to hang out with Sherilyn, but he hadn't even showered yet, and he had a meeting in the morning that he just couldn't skip.
Finally managing to 'escape' from him, Sherilyn hurried towards the front door.
Muttering to herself as she walked, "What to do? Maybe I should ask Candida to handle it?"
Just as she was about to grab her phone, she felt a light tap on her shoulder.
"Sis."
Galen greeted her with a bright smile, "What's got you mumbling? You seem pretty rushed... Anything up?"
"Yeah," Sherilyn nodded, deciding to be honest. "A friend of mine is flying back to Sunhaven today. I promised I'd pick her up, but I overslept. Plus, I've got to rush to the set..."
"Hmm..." Galen thought for a moment. "I can't help you with the filming, but how about I pick up your friend instead?"
"Well..."
That was actually a good idea.
Plus, Galen was her brother, and seemed more suitable than Candida for this task.
Sherilyn hesitated, "Do you have the time?"
"Of course," Galen nodded with a grin. "I might not be as busy as your fiancé, but I’m still a business owner. I don’t have to clock in, you know."
Without much time to deliberate, Sherilyn nodded, "Then I'll leave it to you. Thanks a lot, Galen."
"Sis! How many times do I have to tell you?"
Galen feigned irritation, "No need to be formal with your own brother!"
"Right..." Sherilyn chuckled, "My bad."
...
Following Sherilyn’s instructions, Galen headed to Sunhaven International Airport.
The person he was picking up was Joyce Cooper.
Joyce had just wrapped up her internship at UPenn and completed all her studies.
She had been in touch with Sherilyn a couple of days ago, and today was her return to Sunhaven.
So why was Sherilyn picking her up instead of her family?
Well, Joyce's family didn't approve of her returning to Sunhaven. They believed that with her impressive resume, she should stay in Crestwood for better opportunities.
"Great," Galen continued, "I just found out myself, so I didn’t have time to prepare a sign. Where are you?"
He added, "I’m at the VIP terminal exit. I’m about six-foot-one, wearing a white shirt and black pants, and waving my right arm..."
Based on his description...
Joyce scanned the area and spotted someone fitting that description not too far ahead, facing away from her.
That must be him.
She clutched her phone and walked towards him, "I think I see you..."
"Really? Where are you?"
"Turn around and see?"
The tall figure promptly turned around.
Yes, it was definitely him.
Joyce smiled and waved her phone at him, "Hi there."
