Galen waved as he headed for the door. “Alright, I’m off. No need to see me out, sis—it’s too hot outside.”

“Okay,” Sherilyn replied.

Once her brother was gone, Sherilyn still had one more thing to take care of before the day was over.

Two days ago, Director Blake had called to let her know the entire crew had wrapped filming, and the wrap party was set for tonight.

As she changed in her walk-in closet, her phone buzzed with a call from Gilbert.

“Hi,” she answered quickly.

His voice was warm as always. “Heading to the wrap party soon?”

“Yeah.”

“Where is it?”

“Sunset Quay,” Sherilyn replied. “On Mr. Michael's private yacht.”

“When do you think you’ll be done?”

“How should I know?” She was already dressed, sitting at her vanity to do her makeup. “These kinds of parties never have a set end time.”

“Fair point,” Gilbert said. “Just give me a call when you’re finished, and I’ll come pick you up.”

Sherilyn laughed softly. “Do I even need to call? Isn’t Candida going to keep you updated anyway?”

“It’s not the same.”

His tone grew more serious. “We’re getting married soon. When we are, you’ll be my wife—and I want to hear these things from you, not someone else.”

He added, “Candida and the others—they’re there to look out for you, you know?”

He sounded just a bit put out.

“Alright, alright.” Sherilyn arched a brow and shrugged, unable to keep the smile from her face. “I’ll call you.”

“Good. That’s settled… And since you’re getting a rare night out, make sure you have fun with your friends. Don’t worry about anything, just enjoy yourself.”

“Will do.”

Once she was ready, Sherilyn made sure Jenna was settled in for the evening, then left Blue Haven and drove to the pier at Sunset Quay.

The drive took a while; Sunset Quay was some distance from her home. By the time she arrived, the sun was spilling across the water in gold and orange, casting a shimmering path out to sea.

“Blake.” They shared a smile.

With so many people around earlier, they hadn’t had the chance to talk properly.

“It’s been a while,” Blake said. “Honestly, I thought you might not be able to make it tonight. By the way…”

He clearly had something official to discuss.

“Now that filming’s wrapped, we’re moving into post-production. The show was already picked up by a network and a streaming platform during shooting, so promotion will start soon—probably in just a few weeks.”

As the female lead, Sherilyn was at the center of the publicity plans.

“There’ll be all kinds of events—talk shows, interviews, maybe even some variety gigs. Is that going to be a problem for you?”

Sherilyn looked puzzled. “Why would it be? Don’t worry, Blake, I’ll be there for whatever promotion you need.”

He chuckled, realizing she didn’t quite get what he meant.

“It’s just… Your situation’s changed. With your engagement to the Harrison family—Mr. Harrison, and Mr. Naylor—do you think they’ll be alright with you being so much in the spotlight?”

The Harrison family, after all, was the most influential household in Sunhaven.

Letting her act was one thing. But would they be comfortable with her drawing so much public attention?
