Of the Charlotte Wainwright stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 823. Let's read the author's Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? Charlotte Wainwright story right here.
"Hey! Mr. Johnson!"
Sophia thought it must be Gilbert returning as she hurriedly dashed out.
And it was Gilbert, indeed.
After a day full of adventures, Jenna was exhausted, sweetly asleep in his arms.
"Mr. Johnson!"
Upon seeing him, Sophia felt a wave of relief, "You better check this out, someone's causing trouble again!"
From the open apartment door, a woman's shrill, piercing scream echoed.
Gilbert's expression tightened. "Sophia."
Careful not to wake Jenna, Gilbert gently handed her over to Sophia. "Take Jenna downstairs for a bit, will you?"
"Sure thing!"
Knowing he didn't want Jenna to get scared, Sophia agreed and headed downstairs with Jenna in her arms.
Gilbert frowned and briskly entered the apartment.
"Ugh!"
Sherilyn was seething, managing to pin Malvina beneath her. Her palm gripped Malvina's cheek, pressing hard against it, leaving Malvina immobilized, her face squished against the floor.
"Malvina!"
Fire danced in Sherilyn's eyes. "Thinking I won't fight back just because I haven't laid a hand on you? Malvina, you're getting old! The only reason I haven't struck you is out of respect for Galen!"
"How could a rotten person like you have a wonderful child like Galen?"
She couldn’t accept Galen’s bone marrow donation, yet dared to assault his mother!
Loosening her grip, she hissed, "Consider this a warning. Lay a hand on me again, and I won't hold back, even if you are Galen's mom!"
"You dare hit me?"
As soon as she could breathe, Malvina scrambled up, her eyes flaming with rage, "I'm done playing nice!"
Just then, Gilbert stormed in, his fury erupting like molten lava, pulling Malvina away.
"Have you two lost your minds? What, were you raised by wolves? Even dogs are more civilized than you!"
"Sherilyn?"
Gilbert was right beside her, immediately picking up on her distress.
His gaze shifted menacingly towards Malvina, grabbing her arm and dragging her out the apartment door. "Out!"
"Ah!"
Malvina winced in pain.
Gilbert clenched his teeth, warning, "Leave! Or I won't hesitate to show you I'm serious, woman or not!"
Facing the fierce, dark look on Gilbert's face, Malvina knew better than to provoke this man further.
"I'm leaving! You think I'm afraid?"
But her pride was as stubborn as ever.
"I won't let Galen donate his bone marrow! Tell Sherilyn to stop dreaming!"
With those harsh words, Malvina clutched her arm and fled.
