Gilbert glanced at Sherilyn, gave a subtle nod, and then turned his gaze towards Caroline.

“Caroline, do you know a bouncer at Neon Nights Bar named ‘Saul’?”

“Saul?” Caroline repeated, shaking her head in confusion. “I don’t know him.”

“But…”

Gilbert’s expression remained unchanged, his tone growing more serious. “He claims he knows you, and that you met not too long ago.”

“That’s impossible.”

Caroline frowned deeply, shaking her head. “I have no idea who he is…”

“Maybe.”

Gilbert cut her off. “You’ve met him, but just can’t match the face to the name?”

Wasn’t Sherilyn in the same boat?

“Nolan!”

“Here.”

Gilbert nodded towards someone behind him. “Bring him in!”

“Yes, Mr. Nine!”

With some rustling, Nolan, along with a couple of bouncers, brought Saul in and pushed him in front of Caroline.

Gilbert gestured towards Saul, looking at Caroline. “Him… Do you remember now?”

“Him?”

Caroline stared hard at Saul’s face, scrutinizing, but ultimately, she shook her head.

“I don’t know him.”

Looking up at Gilbert, she asked, “What’s this about? Should I know him? Have I met him?”

“Hmph.”

Sherilyn couldn’t help but let out a cold snort. “What an act!”

Gilbert’s gaze shifted to her, his eyebrows knitting together.

“What am I pretending?”

Caroline turned sharply towards her, teeth clenched. “Sherilyn, just say what you want to say! Stop beating around the bush!”

“Fine!”

Then it clicked. “Are you talking about that scandal you were involved in a while back?”

“Remember now?” Sherilyn’s lips curved. “Nice move, Caroline! You’ve been so consistent in trying to bring me down over the years!”

Her gaze dropped to Caroline’s legs.

A hint of ruthlessness gleamed in her eyes. “What, you got injured, had to leave showbiz, and now you don’t want me to succeed there either?”

“That’s ridiculous!!” Caroline was shocked, her eyes widening. “I have no idea what you’re talking about!”

“Denying it?”

Sherilyn shrugged. “Too bad, Saul can prove it was you!”

“I didn’t!”
