Frank furrowed his brows, glancing up at her with a look that clearly wasn't at his best.
"Need a shower? There's one in the lounge."
Rebecca White instinctively nodded but then realized she had no change of clothes.
"Don't worry about it."
Frank took her hand, leading her towards the lounge. "You wait here. I'll sort out the rest."
Releasing her hand, he turned and left.
Rebecca White didn't know what to say, feeling adrift as he took charge.
The lounge door was left ajar, and she could faintly hear the activity outside…
Frank pressed the intercom, "Send in a secretary… a female one, preferably older."
After hanging up, soon an older female secretary, probably in her thirties or forties, entered.
"Mr. Johnson, you needed something?"
"Uh-huh."
Frank nodded, then instructed.
"My girlfriend's having period cramps, and I'm unprepared. Could you get some clothes and necessities for her?"
The secretary was taken aback by the request, even more so by the revelation that Mr. Johnson actually had a girlfriend?
But as a secretary in the executive office of Johnson Corporation, she maintained her composure. "Of course."
She nodded. "I'll take care of it. May I know what size your girlfriend wears?"
"I know."
Frank nodded and provided the details.
"Alright, I'll be on it."
"Thanks."
Outside the lounge, Rebecca White 'eavesdropped' on the conversation, feeling her cheeks heat up. He knew her size?
But then, it wasn't so strange.
During the time she was 'blind', he had taken such good care of her...
And he referred to her as his 'girlfriend' to the secretary?
After the secretary left, Frank turned around.
"!" Rebecca White startled and quickly shut the lounge door.
Frank paused, then a smile crept over his face.
"Come here."
"What's up?" Rebecca White, puzzled, walked over to him.
"Sit down." Frank gestured to the couch.
"Okay." Rebecca White complied.
"Here."
Frank handed her a hot water bottle. "Warm your stomach. It's as effective as painkillers, the doctor said. And..."
He picked up a thermos, handing it to her.
"Hot ginger tea with honey, freshly made. Drink it slowly."
"…"
Rebecca White opened her mouth, momentarily at a loss for words.
Staring at Frank's refined and handsome face, she felt a mix of emotions...
Her voice was a bit hoarse as she spoke, "Mr. Johnson, do you always take such good care of women?"
"…" Frank paused, slightly bemused yet amused, and countered, "What do you think? Do I look like someone with that much free time?"
