Caroline's smile vanished as she uttered the name.

Francis blinked in surprise. Had they met? Caroline had made a special trip over, could it be that they had a conflict?

Caroline fixed her gaze on the man before her, elegantly handsome and composed, afraid to miss any flicker of emotion on his face.
