My phone buzzing brings me back to the present. 

“Knight,” I answer. “Are you okay?” 

“Yeah, I tried to look up your location and got nothing,” he answers. “Are you okay?” 

“Yeah, just hiding out in my den,’ I look back at the King who is working at my dining table. “What’s up?” 

Just checking in after what happened with Mackenzie. How are the kids?” 

“Roy has Hunter. He took him back to Cliffside with him. He was devastated when we fold him what happened. Rose, Jake’s girlfriend is looking after Natalie. They’re here until she heads back to Scotland with her. We all think it’s best to keep them separated until they’re old enough to understand what they are to one another,” 

“Do you think it’s the right thing to do after everything that went down?” 

don’t know, Knight. They’re kids. They’ve never left that compound and Hunter is very aggressive for a pup his age. We have an appointment with Luna Miller in a couple of weeks. Well see what she says,”

“You’re in France?” I smile- 

“Yeah, we’re going to do a couple of shows here before heading home. I’ve been calling my mom but she’s been ignoring 

“Yeah, well when they’ve raised a shit head parents don’t like answering the phones to be met with collect calls, hospital notices, or you know. The other thing.” I nod. “Maria is probably scared of what you’re going to say to her,” 

“Yeah, he sighs. That makes two of us.” 

“Blake, costumes are here, someone calls out to him. 

“I gotta go. I was just making sure you were still alive,” he clears his throat. 

“Yeah. I’m good. Stay safe out there. Take a couple of walks. Visi museum or something. Don’t stay hidden away,” 

“Shut up,” he laughs. 

I’m serious. You never know what you might find,” 

“Laters. Prince,” he chuckles. 

“Laters, Blake,” I tuck my phone into my hoodie pocket and stand up. “Are you hungry?” 

“Are you going to order out?” The King asks without looking up at me. 

No, I can make something.” 

“Sure, he agrees. 

As I take things out to make something with meat in it, my phone rings again. When I dig my phone out I see Nate’s name 

come 

“Hello?” answer. 

“It’s been a minute, Trouble, the voice sends a cold tingle down my spine. I gasp for air after a minute of silence. My father’s laugh comes through. “I didn’t didn’t think you’d recognize my voice after all these years,” 

“What the fuck?” I choke out. 

“You’ve been busy,” he continues. “Before you get upset, I’d like to begin by telling you how proud I am of you, Pumpkin. I’ve missed you so much,” 

“Is this a fucking joke?” I ask. The King is at my side taking the knife I’m holding out of my hand. 

“I wish I could say yes, Trouble. My orders are to tell you that your ve earned your place among us. As a former champion. you are entitled to everything you’ve taken from the Falcon. Now and forevermore, you shall be known as the Wolf Bait. Go up to your little setup, now,” 

“You can see us?” I look up at the camera 1 upgraded the day we arrived. 

“I’ve always been able to see you, Perry. Do as I ask,” he orders. I look up at the King. He nods and takes a step away to let me through. He takes my hand as I reach for my phone. I go up the stairs until I get to my room. “Sit. Both of you,”
