Inez was displeased, so she turned down his invitation. “No. You’re done with your work, but I’m not. I won’t be going.”

Kieran was frozen to the spot.

He walked back. “What is so urgent? I can help you with it. This is the first time I celebrate your birthday with you. Are you sure you don’t want to go?”

Going on a date, a movie, having dinner, and going to a hotel… 

In truth, she was very excited but continued to stay silent.

Kieran continued, “Before going out today, your mother told me that she will lock the villa from the inside. Even if you want to go back, you can’t. You have to come with me.”

Inez nodded to herself. There are some improvements after all. At least, he didn’t suggest a horror, sci–fi, or detective movie. 

Since she was the CEO of Mossey Corporation, no one would dare to pass any comment if she wanted to take a few hours off work.

The two of them soon left Mossey Corporation and drove to the cinema. They bought popcorn and soft drinks and began their date.

For the rest of the afternoon, Gwendolyn was busy planning the new e–sports investment.

When it was time to go off work, her phone rang.

It was not Cedrick who was rushing her to go home.

Instead, it was Charles calling.

Gwendolyn answered her phone with suspicion. Charles seemed to be in high spirits. “Gwen, before you returned home, you said you wanted to give me a treat? It has been some time since you returned. When shall we meet? Have you forgotten all about it?”

His words rendered Gwendolyn speechless.

All the while, she was busy managing her mania at night while dealing with the business of Harris Group and figuring out Annie’s identity during the day.

She had truly forgotten about it.

Hearing no reply from her, Charles came up with a reason for her. “I know you are an ambitious person and won’t stop even though you are the richest person in Chanaea. You’re busy. That’s fine if you have forgotten about it. Shall we meet up if you are free tonight?”

“Fine. Let me give Cedrick a call and discuss with him the venue. I will call you back in half an hour’s time.”

Since Gwendolyn had given her word in exchange for Charles‘ care of the children, Cedrick did not refuse. Instead, he helped to choose a restaurant.

Thirty minutes later, the appointment for dinner was set.
