Yvonne Xander snickered. After careful observation, she noticed that something had been off. She stopped smiling and answered thoughtfully, “I’m not too sure. They were always together before and after class. There were rumors about them being a couple but I’m not sure if it’s true. Monique didn’t tell me because she was afraid my dad would have found out.”

Henry pressed his lips tightly after hearing what she said with a vicious look in his eyes. Yvonne shuddered in fear as she felt the atmosphere around them thickened instantly.

If Yvonne had bluntly said that they had been a couple, he would not have believed her. However, she described it with euphemistic terms, and with the way Monique had reacted this afternoon, he had been pretty convinced that she had been telling the truth.

He felt threatened.

Did she go back to look for him!

That damn woman.

Yvonne sniggered internally when she saw Henry’s expression. ‘Monique, I would make him mine.’

At that moment, Zephyrus returned with two big bags of food. When he had seen Henry, he smiled warmly and said, “Chairman Moore, you’re here. I bought a lot of food, you’re welcome to stay for dinner.”

Henry nodded his head lightly and carried Angel down, “Angel, stay with your granduncle. I’ll go and get mommy.”

“Okay,” Angel nodded. She had also been quite worried that mommy had yet to be back even though it had been getting dark.

“Where did Monique go? She’s not back yet?” Zephyrus asked in surprise.

Henry glanced at him and said, “Take care of Angel.”

Zephyrus had been a little stunned. Even though Henry seemed to be aloof as usual, he felt that he had been more distant than normal as if he had suppressed a strong emotion. He said to him, “Don’t be too late.”

Henry immediately called Monique’s phone after he left their house, but it went directly to voicemail.
