Nick Johnny chuckled. “You’re exaggerating. I’m surprised that you remember. I thought you’ve forgotten about it.”

Monique thought that he was most likely referring to her forgotten promise to treat him to a meal.

“I’m sorry. I’ve been busy with work these few days…” Monique frowned and said embarrassedly, “Let’s meet one day.”

“You said it. Remember to call me,” Nick said smilingly with a clear voice.

His voice had a calming effect on Monique’s nerves. She nodded. “Sure.”

Then, Nick pointed at the seat in front of Monique and said gleefully, “Ms. Monnie, do I have the honor to sit with you?”

“Of course.” Monique smiled gently and sat down.

Her pretty eyes turned toward the direction where Henry had been but he was still nowhere to be found. Could he really leave without her?

Monique’s heart dropped. However, she felt that it was inappropriate to leave Nick alone right after he helped her out of a sticky situation.

“What is it? Are you looking for your boyfriend?” Nick asked.

Monique glanced at him and shook her head. She took a piece of cake and asked, “Do you want some?”

Was she Henry’s girlfriend?
