Logan fumbled, feeling as though he had stepped on a landmine.

Logan immediately sprinted to the sofa, not taking a peek at Henry.

As soon as Logan sat down, Henry's handphone rang.

Henry stared at the screen, displaying Monique's incoming call.

'I think she's calling to beg him!'

Henry initially did not intend to have Simon locked up for a long time as he was only being charged for fighting. It was impossible for him to be charged with kidnapping as there was no sufficient evidence. It was just like what Angel said: she had called Simon for help.

Even though Angel was anxiously looking for her mother, her action itself of seeking help from Simon could prove just how important he was to Angel.

Henry knew Monique would plead for Simon, but seeing her sincerely begging him for Simon just made Henry feel even more unsatisfied.

The phone rang for some time, but no one picked up. Monique's eyebrows frowned as her fingers tightened on her handphone.

'Why isn't he picking up? 'Is he going back on his word? Did he change his mind not to let Simon free?'

Then, a voice was heard from her handphone saying, "Sorry, the number you've dialed is not answering." Then, Monique placed her handphone on her palms, disappointed.

Louise sensed the unease settling in Monique and smiled, "Maybe the chairman is busy. Later, you can call him again. Who knows, maybe he's having a meeting."

Monique did not answer, but somehow felt relieved.

A human's true nature can be made out after spending some time with them. However, sometimes we can see their true colors in just a short time.
