Irene could imagine how Margaret would react to Edric's action. She would definitely be furious. She assumed that Margaret would be ruining the furniture and making a mess at her own home now.

Irene's guess was accurate. Margaret saw Edric's interview and smashed all the things in her house into pieces. She called Edric and asked him to come back quickly to explain to her.

On the other side, Lily and Deborah were so vexed after watching the show. It was beyond Lily and Deborah's expectation that Edric would shape Lily into such a person.

Deborah only thought that Edric and Margaret would sympathize with Lily more because Lily's reputation was tarnished, and they would take her side as they were bashed too in this incident. It never crossed her mind that Edric would pull out such a card.

When Lily approached Edric, she played the same trick. Edric was now using her own ploy. How ironic it was.

Looking at the host praising her kindness, Lily was distraught. She didn't aim to be a moral model.

Edric had announced in the face of the people of San Fetillo that Lily had nothing to do with him and denied his engagement with Lily. It made Lily feel embarrassed. She had worked so hard for it!

She would rather be scolded by the public than have nothing to do with Edric. Lily was enraged when Edric thanked her for helping him and Irene. She jumped and shouted at Deborah, "It's all because of you. You said it's foolproof. What should we do now?"

"Calm down!" Deborah frowned at Lily's manic look. "We still have our chance, don't we?"

"How can I calm down? What should I do now to make Edric take back what he said? It's all your fault... If it weren't for you, things wouldn't have become like this."

Deborah was irked. "I did all these for you. If it wasn't for me, you couldn't even get to see Edric, let alone be engaged with him. How could you blame me? Well, I won't care about your business from now on!"

"I'm going to end my life if you are going to leave me alone. I'm going to kill myself if I can't get Edric!"

"Go ahead. I won't have a coward like you as my daughter. I will never stop you!" Deborah slammed the door and walked out.

Lily fell on the ground as she wailed and covered her face. She didn't want to die, and she was reluctant to end her relationship with Edric in such a way. Lily had waited for Edric for nine years. She almost succeeded, but all her efforts went in vain in a blink of an eye. She was crestfallen.

Deborah stood in the corridor and heard Lily crying in the bedroom. She, too, was upset. It was her fault, after all. She thought that if she pushed them to such a desperate corner, they would get a bargaining chip, but Edric's decision was totally the opposite of her expectation.

She had carried out such a desperate plan, for she was sure that Edric would not allow Margaret be in the spotlight. However, Deborah didn't expect that Edric would mention this on TV.

"What should we do now? Since Edric went to the TV station and exposed all these, it meant that he did not want to have any relationship with Lily at all. Would this matter be settled just like this? No way! I must think of a way to reconcile with him!" Deborah scratched her mind.

She had worked hard for this in the last seven or eight years, but everything was now down the drain in just one day. Deborah was not willing to give up; she wanted to turn the table around. They shouldn't give up so easily!

After watching the show, Jordan turned off the TV with a sneer. "Edirc is indeed brilliant. He killed three birds with one stone!"

Edric went back home immediately after receiving a phone call from Margaret. As soon as he pushed the door open, a pillow was thrown at him. He reached out his hand to catch it accurately. Margaret jumped up from the sofa and dashed to him and slapped his face.

Edric didn't dodge it, hence he was slapped squarely in the face. Seeing that, Margaret's heart ached a little. However, when she thought of him mortifying her for Irene, her edge of irritation returned again. "You are such an ingrate. You've slandered me for her. Are you still my son?"

Edric frowned and looked at Margaret. "Mom, take it easy. You're almost in your seventies now. Aren't you afraid of being laughed at if news gets out?"

"Are you kidding me? Who dares to laugh at me?" Margaret remembered that there was an outsider in the house, Loraine. After all, Edric was a president of a company, and Margaret shouldn't slap him in front of Loraine. Hence, she glared at Loraine. Immediately, Loraine stepped out instantly but the truth was, she did not go far. She waited at the door to see what would happen.

"You can break up with Lily, and I have nothing against it. However, don't even think about getting back together with Irene. I will not let her be one of the Myers family members," Margaret bellowed. Loraine shook her head. Edric was so unfortunate to have such a mother.

In the face of Margaret's roar, Edric helped her sit down calmly. He then went back to pour two cups of water. He put one in front of Margaret and said, "Mom, have a glass of water. I'll explain everything to you."

Margaret refused, "No matter what tricks you play, I won't agree to it anyway."

"Mom, except for Irene, I have no interest in anyone else. You can only accept Irene. Otherwise, the Myers family will have no descendants."

"Don't lie to me. I'm telling you, I'll never fall for your lie!"

"I'm telling the truth. Mom, think about it. Have you ever seen me meeting with other women in the past three years?"
