Tommy had always been an ignorant person. All he knew how to do was eat, drink, gamble, and play with women. Before, he had gotten into a fight over a woman and almost gone to prison. He only managed to escape imprisonment with Deborah's help.

Deborah wasn't helping him out of kindness, rather she wanted to use Loraine. As expected, she did not let Deborah down.

Tommy did nothing all day. Loraine was worried that her son would go down the wrong path again so she asked Deborah to help him find a job.

It took Deborah a lot of time to find a job for Tommy. He was uneducated yet he picky with his work. He wanted an easy yet high paying job.

Deborah successively found several jobs for him but he would always mess them up. In the end, she had no choice but to hire him as Steven's driver.

Tommy had always been on the lower end of society. He was so happy when he heard from his mother that he had been hired to serve a high-end figure.

Although he was merely a driver, it was rare for an ordinary person to be in such close contact with a high-end figure. When people who knew Tommy heard that he was going to be Mr. Cook's driver, they all admired him and looked up to him. Due to that, Tommy felt arrogant and only then did he start to put in a lot of effort into doing his job well.

With Tommy's character, kissing up to someone was nothing new to him. Steven had a good impression of him due to his wits.

However, recently, Steven had started to dislike Tommy. The other day Director Lewis had come to talk to Steven about business. In their conversation, he brought up Tommy.

"Is Tommy Lewis your driver?"

"Yes. Why?" Steven asked. His intuition told him that Tommy must have done something to be under the police's radar.

"The other day, we held a raid and arrested quite a few prostitutes. One of the clients who frequented that place had the same name."

"What did you say?" Steven's expression changed. Although Tommy was just his driver, it would not be good for his reputation if word got out. People would assume that Steven himself was involved in those kinds of matters too.

"The police officers had wanted to arrest him, but he brought up your name and said that he was your driver. The officers checked and found that he was telling the truth. They didn't want to drag your name into the mud so they let him go. A couple days later, he was caught again in another nightclub with drugs. It's happened twice in a row so I thought I had better come give you a heads up. As they say, a leopard can never change its spots. If he really is your driver, you'd better be more cautious. Try not to be seen with him anymore and save yourself the trouble."

Steven nodded, "I see. Thank you for the heads up."

After Director Lewis left, Steven frowned. As the saying went, 'a rotten apple spoils the barrel', Tommy could not work under him anymore.

Naturally, Steven was not one to drag things on. He quickly fired Tommy. After that, Tommy told Loraine about it, who immediately called Deborah.

Deborah was taken aback too. She wondered if Steven had become suspicious of anything. Could it be that he had found out that Tommy had been carrying out her bidding? She had not asked him to do much, apart from keeping an eye on Steven and having him throw Eden into the ditch near the hospital previously. The likelihood of Steven knowing about those incidents was rather low.

That evening, Steven came back with a new driver. Naturally, Deborah asked him, "Why have you changed your driver? What happened to Tommy?"

"Don't even bring him up. He can't work for me anymore," Steven told her about Tommy's indulgences in prostitutes and drugs. Deborah was relieved, as there were no suspicions about her. She told Loraine about what he said and asked her to relax.

When Loraine heard that her son's dismissal had nothing to do with him helping Deborah, she was relieved too. She had managed to accrue quite a lot of money from working for the Myers family over the years. Since her son had nothing else to do now, she intended to let him run a business.

Tommy knew nothing about running a business, and he did not know what kind of business he wanted to run. Lorraine suggested opening a supermarket. Tommy originally agreed but after discussing with his friend, his friend said that a supermarket was too small of a plan. Considering his background, Tommy's friend suggested that he open something more thrilling, like a bar or a nightclub.

Tommy's eyes lit up when he heard how much bars and nightclubs could earn. He thought about how much he usually spent on drinks when he frequented those places and felt like that line of business was indeed very profitable.
