07 - Chapter Seven - Leno's Point Of View.

Waking up early before Diego ensured he wouldn't come with me. Yesterday's episode from him burned deep into my emotions. Just thinking about how I slapped him made my fingertips tingle with an all-knowing intent. Slapping him had not been my best move and shouldn't have happened at all, but anger had gotten the best of me and bam. He got slapped. After dressing for the cold I left bringing a bag of clothing I could change into after I shifted back. My father's new house or council home wasn't very far from where the newer city was built. His house was within days run from the four major arctic packs. It had to be this way since if he was needed in just a few moments then he could be there when he was needed.

I was a bit faster than the normal wolf so I could make it by nearly dark. Shifting I grabbed my bag of clothing and took off. The cold air hit my fur in waves, it was cold enough that I should have brought a fur cover for warmth but I was tight on time because I didn't want Diego to come with me. I was actively avoiding him at this rate and I didn't want him to ruin my visit with my father.

By nightfall, I had finally reached my father's home. I shifted and changed, knocking once on the door. He opened the door and pulled me into a hug. I embraced him as if it's been years when in fact only a month. My father was a busy man and was constantly all over the map at any given time. so it was nice to spend more than a few moments with him. He hadn't changed much since the last time I saw him, He looked really good after the full moon and that meant he had some kind of company and that made me feel happy for him. He looked over me before speaking.

"So I take it here over the council's order?"

"Yes and no, I'm actually fine with the order."

"I figured as much. Diego, not so much I take it?"

"Yes indeed."

"So is he going to appeal?"

"You know it, he was going on and on about appealing the order."

"They will deny his appeal."

"Oh, I know. I tried to tell him that as well but he wouldn't listen to me because he knew best."

"His position is on the line, why wouldn't he take this as the council being serious?"

"He is determined to have his own way. He's hard-headed."

My father and I sat at the table. He made me a cup of hot cocoa and grabbed me a plate of baked chicken with cream sauce. If there was one thing my father was great at it was cooking. The man knew his way around the kitchen like a god. I cut into the chicken and popped the first bite into my mouth savouring the perfect flavour. My father continued to talk as I stuffed my face full of his chicken. He brought up the full moon and I choked on my chicken. My father was a really good man until he got on to a few topics, anything was dinner conversation as far as he was concerned. No topics were off-limits.

"Excuse me," I said as soon as I stopped choking.

" I said, '' Did you get a good lay on the full moon."
