18 - Chapter Eighteen - Leno's Point Of View.

With my due date being less than 48 hours away Diego got much worse with the hovering. I could understand why but that didn't mean it was any less annoying.

"Are you okay if I leave for a few moments to speak with Dakota?"

"I'll be fine Diego. Relax and go silly."

"I won't be more than a few moments I promise."

"Take your time. No rush. "

I knew Diego was worried about leaving me but knew I would be for the few minutes he would be gone. Looking down at my bump I spoke softly.

"Listen here little one. Daddy had to go for a few moments but he won't be too long so I need you to wait till he gets back if you plan on busting out. Okay. "

Rubbing my stomach I got back little kicks from my sea monkey. I was so excited to see my sweet baby's face but at the same time completely terrified. Would Diego and I be ready and able to look after a tiny and fragile little one. I mean I wasn't completely a newbie when it came to children. I did volunteer for the daycare but that was only a few hours, not twenty four seven.  I was freaking out. Realising this, I took a few deep breaths and forced myself to relax. Last thing I needed was Diego to think something serious had happened. I knew I was in good hands though for the birth. Being it was our first child there would be a midwife standing by to assist should anything complicate the birth.

For the most part if both parties were wolves and it was not their first birth it was a closed thing and no assistance was given. The dominant mate was taught the first time around how to assist with births. Domanints in the position of power usually had issues with allowing people around their mates when in labour.

Diego came home about an hour later. He brought a gift bag.

"This is from Dakota and Felix. "

I took the bag, opened it and pulled the stuff out. Inside were very useful baby items. Like a few soothers and bottles. There was also a folded up piece of paper that looked like a note. I totally ignored the note and set the bag on the floor.
