"She misunderstood." James pulled away from Sabrina and looked Esther straight in the eyes. "I told her to stop acting."

Right away, Sabrina calmed down, and her face turned serious. "What? Why didn't you just say so? I ended up hitting myself without realizing."

James didn't feel as awkward. "You didn't give me a chance to talk. You kept talking about your sperm donor since you got here."

"What are you doing here?" she asked him, her tone colder than before.
