"Caleb, I'm fine."

However, Esther failed to hold back her tears. She tried to act like everything was okay, but it just wasn't working.

Helpless, Caleb had no idea how to comfort Esther as she wouldn't tell him what was wrong. He tried to be supportive by patting her on the shoulder and giving her tissues. "Try to stay positive. There's still a lot of good in the world. We've got to keep looking forward."

Esther pressed her lips together, then said sadly, "Really? Why doesn't it feel like it?"

She was upset because both of her relationships didn't work out. She thought maybe something was wrong with her since she didn't do anything bad, but still, her relationships ended badly. This thought made her feel even worse.

Caleb was no fool. He roughly guessed that Esther's problem had something to do with her boyfriend. "Did your boyfriend treat you badly? Tell me."

Esther shook her head. "I don't have a boyfriend anymore. We broke up."

Caleb was surprised to hear Esther was single. He didn't expect such good news, and he thought maybe now he could show her he liked her.

But Esther was grieving. He knew he couldn't show he was happy about it.

So, he said, "I always thought he wasn't a nice guy. It's okay that you broke up. Someone better will come along."

But Esther didn't want to hear about meeting someone new. After everything, she felt like she might be better off alone.

And so, Caleb didn't push further.

Esther took some time off and decided to go somewhere by herself to feel better. She chose to visit a country she had avoided for a long time.

It was the place where Mobius had donated his bone marrow to her.

She had not told Pearl about the breakup yet. Pearl was busy, and she didn't want to add to her troubles.

She didn't want to always make her best friend worry about her.
