Jasmine finally believed her. But when she peeked through the door and saw someone tall standing there, she tried to shut the door fast. She'd been fooled!

But Richard was ready for this. He moved quicker than her and blocked the door with his foot, keeping it open.

Realizing she couldn't keep them out, Jasmine panicked and ran inside. She locked herself in her bedroom and slid down to the floor, leaning against the door.

The man's face at the door flashed in her mind. Why did he look so familiar?

Then she heard a voice from outside, pulling her from her thoughts. "Jasmine, don't be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to talk about something."

It was Richard's voice.

Hearing him, Jasmine felt something strange, something new. She hugged her knees and tried her best not to make a sound.

"I mean you no harm."

Jasmine whispered back, "Haven't I said sorry and explained everything? Why can't you just leave me alone?"

"I need real answers to some questions," he replied.

They quietly approached and listened at the door, then realized something was wrong when they heard her gasps. Richard opened the door quickly.

They hadn't expected to find Jasmine struggling to breathe. Pearl knelt down to help her calm down.

After a bit, Jasmine's breathing eased. She tried to smile with her pale lips and asked, "Why are you doing this? Why won't you leave me alone? Did I do anything wrong?"

Pearl sounded helpless. "We don't want to hurt you. We just need to ask you some things."

"Enough!" Suddenly, Jasmine shouted. "The child is Richard's. Are you happy now?"
