"Any word on infections overseas?" Pearl asked while Simon slipped on his gloves.

"Nope, it's all happening here." Simon rolled his eyes in exasperation.

"So, how do you think this pathogen got here?"

Simon shrugged. "Beats me. Wasn't my doing."

A bold idea flashed through Pearl's mind. "Are you saying someone deliberately released this?"

Hearing this, Simon panicked and tried to cover her mouth. "What are you talking about? You can't just go around saying that."

"No, think about it. This infection came out of nowhere. It can't be a natural occurrence."

Simon sighed. "I know you're eager, but hold your horses. Right now, we need to focus on finding a cure."
