"Are we there yet?"

"Pretty soon." The man's voice was a bit rough, but he stepped on the gas pedal hard.

Half an hour later, they pulled up in front of a big, luxurious house.

"Alright, we can get out now," he said.

Esther didn't wait a second longer. As soon as the car stopped, she got out and started throwing up by the side of the road.

She'd only had one glass of champagne at the party and hardly any food. It felt like she was going to throw up everything, even her stomach acid.

"Next time, can you tell me how far your house is before we go?"

"Okay." Despite her looking so sick, he couldn't help but find her complaints kind of cute.

Esther nodded and stood up unsteadily, still looking white as a sheet.

"Let's go in." Without waiting for her to agree, the man picked her up because she seemed really out of it.

"Hey!" Startled, Esther yelled and grabbed his arm tight. "What are you doing? Put me down."

Esther wasn't really there to drink, so she didn't respond. The man thought for a bit and then smiled. "Then have some orange juice."

Esther was stunned. At the party earlier, she had slipped away to drink orange juice instead of champagne, and he had noticed. She realized he was very observant and not someone she could easily deal with.

"Alright, let's get back to business. Since you brought me to such a far place, I believe you have some truths for me." Esther was hoping for some answers after coming all this way.

"Of course. I'll tell you everything. But first, you should rest," he said with a smile, dodging her question.

Esther felt tricked and was pretty upset about it.
