Luther lowered his voice. "Please, this is no time for jokes. Bring the child back."

"What do you mean, jokes?" Nina realized the child's cries were heard so she kicked him. "I'm not telling you!"

Then she hung up.

Pearl, listening closely, recognized the sound of the kick. She had been in fights before and knew that noise. Her eyes filled with anger as she realized Darius was being mistreated.

"If your sister hurts my son, I won't let her or you get away with it!" she warned.

Luther understood the gravity of the situation. "Don't worry, I'll bring him back to you."

Despite wanting to intimidate Pearl, Luther would never harm Darius. He made another call.

"Find out where Nina is."

Minutes later, he received a message and frowned as he read it. "She's at Linowa Coast."

Despite the pain, Darius didn't cry. He just stared at Nina. "Psycho."

Nina laughed. "I'm the psycho? Who are you to call me that?"

She stood up and kicked him again, her heel scraping painfully against his skin. Darius screamed, and tears fell onto the sand, forming a puddle.

"This is what happens when you anger me, kid." Nina bent over and smirked. "I don't think you know who I am. How could you not, even after spending so much time with my brother?"
