Chapter 412
Maleah’s p.o.v.

I recognized the females on the front porch as friends of my Mother, I am surprised about the question Mack shoots my way but Fortune knows exactly how we should respond and I love the fact that he is willing to play along. It leaves me with a question though, the moment I realize that my Mother never told her friends that her Daughter and Miss D’Angelo are one and the same person.

Mack guides me into the Pack-house as Dad steps beside me and the moment we step into the main dining room I see Mack’s biggest nightmare, not that she is just his biggest nightmare. He told me over the mind-link that she is after every member of our leadership, she doesn’t care which one she ends up with as long as he is a High-ranking Lycan and I see her giving me a death glare.

“As if we are impressed by that, I have seen more impressive looks in the past. If someone thinks that is going to scare us away from our Mate they should get their head examined.” Fortune growls in my head and I smile as I walk towards Elyse, “Goodmorning, Luna Elyse.” I greet her as she pulls me in for a hug and through the mind-link I tell her what happened outside. “Don’t tell me that my Sons send Mack to find out the color of my outfit for the Spring Ball.” She says as she looks at Mack.

“Sorry, Mom. We just want to match your outfit, you always complain that we never match.” Dax says as he pulls out my chair and like last night I am seated between Dax and Mack, his leg pressed against mine. Nightmare, as Mack calls her, walks to our table and she stops next to Luna Elyse, “Luna, why would a nobody know the color of your outfit for the Spring Ball?” Nightmare asks and I hear our entire leadership growl as I slowly get up.

“Let me ask you a question and if you don’t know the answer, maybe one of your friends can help you out because combined you might have enough brain cells to figure this out. Who is the most famous designer in the world?’ I ask and I see the anger flashing in her eyes. “Miss D’Angelo is the most famous designer in the world.” Nightmare answers. “Very good. Do you know what my last name is?” I reply.

She looks over her shoulder at her friends but all of them shrug their shoulders, she turns back to me and I ask her if she knows his last name as I point at my Father. “That is Diego D’Angelo, one of our Assassins.” Nightmare answers and I keep looking at her to see if it finally sinks in, but I am afraid I will be waiting till doomsday before it registers. “Yeah and he also happens to be my Father. So here comes the question again, what is my last name?” I ask.

Dax thanks me as I place his coffee in front of him, Elyse just smiles at me as I sit down and through the mind-link she thanks me for allowing all our Pack-members to enjoy their breakfast. The fact that I am Miss D'Angelo is the main topic of every conversation in the dining room, but me getting up to get myself another cup of coffee is intertwined with that conversation quickly. Apparently if you're more than a Low-ranking Pack-member or if you are a world famous designer you are incapable of doing anything yourself.

I will be glad when breakfast is over, I need to tell Levi what I heard yesterday because he needs to be prepared and I have to make sure that I have all the ingredients I need for my recipe. It's the best defense I have against the herb they are planning on giving him, but I need to get working on it as quickly as I can and I need to make sure it has time to settle in Levi’s system. I might suggest that all other members of our leadership take it as well.

I would hate it if they targeted someone other than Levi and I did nothing to stop them from getting what they want, a High-ranking member of our Pack as their Mate. I thought most females had learned by now to accept the ways our bond work and not to go against their Wolf or Lycan, but some have a Wolf or Lycan that agree with their Human. They are the ones that will never give up to get a High-ranking Mate and they are willing to do just about anything.
