Chapter 455
Maleah’s p.o.v.

“You have this entire Pack in a total panic.” Max says and I ask him what the problem is, he looks at me with a questioning look in his eyes. I tell him what happened on the front porch and how we managed to escape, but I tell him we will head back to the Pack-house.

“I find it rather childish to call in the help of the Pack, they were chasing us around and quite a few people saw that.” I say to Delaney as we walk back to the Pack-house.

“How do you think they would react if we constantly told them where we were going?” Delaney asks and just one look at her is enough, the rest of the way to the Pack-house we make plans to get even with our Mates.

The moment the Pack-house comes into view we change the subject to the arrangements for this afternoon, I tell her that I asked Dad to put our outfits on the Beta floor and that Dad and Colter would be joining Elyse and Max to the funeral.

An Omega tells us that our lunch is ready for us on the Alpha floor, “Tell our Mates we will have lunch in the main dining room. If they want to join us they are more than welcome.” Delaney says before she walks past the Omega and heads to the dining room with me right behind her.

Roars are heard from up the stairs and I bet it is safe to say that the Omega mind-linked them with Delaney’s message, not that I can blame her.

We have just settled in our seats when we hear our Mates running down the stairs and we smile at one another as we start eating our lunch.

“Who are you?” Nightmare asks and I wonder how she got into the Pack-house, but then I remember we never had a vote to banish them from the Pack-house.

Delaney introduces herself to Nightmare and I wonder what kind of a remark she will get from Nightmare, “That is the Luna seat and that will be mine soon.” Nightmare says.

Delaney asks her how she figured it would be hers soon and I almost choke on my food when she tells Delaney she is Dominic’s girlfriend, that she just left him on the Alpha floor.

“Do you always spread lies on what you have done and with whom?” Delaney asks and the entire dining room is quiet as Nightmare tells her that she isn’t lying, I roll my eyes at her words.

“Can you tell me what would happen if a male slept with a female while he has marked another?” Delaney asks as she slowly gets out of her seat.

“Of course I know that. The female he marked would be in excruciating pain and it will take hours before she has recovered from that, especially if it is a true Mate-bond.” Nightmare answers and again Delaney asks her why she lies about who she has been with, Nightmare asks Delaney why she is accusing her of lying.

“Because if Dominic had sex with you I wouldn’t be standing here, I would be in the infirmary and Maleah would be on the hunt for her Alpha. I am your Alphas’ Mate and this seat belongs to me.” Delaney says as she steps towards Nightmare.

“Get the fuck out of the Pack-house and don’t ever come near me or my Mates ever again.” Delaney growls and she releases her aura in the process, causing Nightmare to fall to her knees.

I grab Delaney by her shoulder to force her to pull her aura back and the moment Nightmare is able to get to her feet she runs from the room. I know our Mates heard and saw everything that happened, but I hadn’t expected the angry look on Dominic’s face and neither did Delaney.

“You had no right to talk to one of our Pack-members like that. My Brothers and I are the Alphas…” But I don’t let him finish that sentence as I grab him by the throat and push him up against the wall.

My Mates will have a few questions to answer when we get back here tonight and for their sakes I hope their answers are answers I can live with. Delaney and I are finished getting dressed when Dad and Colter walk in.

“Who the hell pissed you off?” Colter asks the moment he sees my face and I tell him what happened today, from the moment I returned with my Mates until the moment I linked Dad.

Both of them start cussing and swearing as they start pacing the room, Colter tells us that Max was raised the way his Father ran this Pack and I am surprised to hear that Elyse was never allowed to make decision herself.

Whatever Max said was Law, from where they would have their meals to what to do with Pack-members that crossed some line.

“We had hoped that Elyse would change Max, but she is the one that changed for him.” Dad mumbles and I ask Colter if his Son agrees with Max’s point of view.

“None of them ever agreed with Max and I thought our future leadership would break with the traditions Max put into place, but from what you just said I am afraid Max ran this Pack a few years too long.” Colter says and I grab my phone to call Pauline.

“Which of the safehouses is still secure?” I ask the moment she answers and I explain what happened today.

“I am going to give them twenty four hours to make a choice. Either they chose their Mate or their Pack and I don’t want to see them during that time.” I tell Pauline and Delaney says to count her in. Pauline tells me that she will arrange everything and that she will be waiting for us after the funeral.
