Chapter 478
Kay’s p.o.v.
Knowing that our Alphas want Elder Carlyle taken care off tonight, I keep a close eye on our Mate. I want to see if I can find out how she does it and if I can learn a few tricks from her.
I have seen her in action, but never witnessed a stealth operation with a lot of people around and I really want to see how she is going to pull this off.
We don’t bother getting changed, we will do that after dinner for the official Ball. I have my hand on Maleah’s lower back and I see that one of the Elders is still standing behind his seat, looks like everyone will be informed about our status is a minute.
“Good evening, normally we would inform you by email of certain changes within a Pack’s leadership. Tonight we will deliver this message vocally, because one of our Elders forgot to inform all of us. The entire leadership of Blood Crescent Pack has found their Mate and they are marked and mated, meaning that they are of the market, so to speak.” He says, before he sits down again.
The Queen is looking uncomfortable, the moment her eyes meet Maleah’s and I wonder how this evening will progress.
Alpha Kenyon has pulled a few strings and we are seated at the same table. I want to get to know Maleah’s Grandfather and this is a perfect opportunity, one I intend to use to the fullest extent of the word.
I can feel Maleah becoming a bit restless and I think it is safe to say it has to do with the Wolves at the table next to us. They have been whispering loudly about us, none of them can understand why there are only two females with us.
Apparently none of them have figured out that a triplet usually shares a Mate and it seems that we need to make sure our Pups get a better education than the Wolves and Lycans around us. “Maleah, do you know what Olmepenem is?” I ask to distracted her.
“It is a liquid poison. You take the juice of some Xeisir berries, you mix it with some cut Tudeforn and some crushed Viscid Portia. If I remember correctly, it has to be boiled for a period of time and then it has to cool down in temperature. It can be mixed with any kind of liquid or substance, but Viscid Portia has a very strange smell.
If you know what it smells like, you can smell it, even if it is mixed with whatever someone would want to use to poison you with.” She explains, in between taken bites of her steak.
“Do you know many poisons?” Alpha Kenyon asks and I keep quiet, because I want to know how Maleah is going to answer it.
“Not really, I did try to get a better understanding of some poisons. I just didn’t have the patience to read any books on poisons, they don’t have pictures and most of the text is boring. I don’t need to know the best circumstances to grow Tudeforn or when it is the best time to plant a Xeisir bush.” She answers.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Dominic growls as he walks over to the clothing bag and he growls even harder the moment he reveals the suit that is inside. A dark anthracite suit with a hot pink cumber band and a bowtie and pocket square in the same hot pink color.
Dominic already had trouble with the prospect of having light pink accents in his outfit, but I think that the hot pink is going to be a big No No.
We can take things a little slower than our Mates, but there are six of us that need to take a shower and only two of them. We discuss the Luna Ceremony, while we all get changed into the outfits that Stan designed for us and I smile at the emerald green color in out outfits.
Five of us are fully dressed, but Dominic refuses to wear the hot pink items of his outfit. It doesn’t matter what we tell him, he flat out refuses to put them on and I am hoping that this will not backfire on him in any way.
A soft knock is heard on the connecting door and through the mind-link I tell them that we are ready.
I did leave out the part of Dominic, Delaney can deal with that the moment she walks into the room and I am going to sit back and enjoy the show.
