Chapter 96 

Maddox 

From the corner of my eye, I see Alpha Nathan closing the door in front of Dagmar. Why would he try to lock my Pack members out of this meeting, I think to myself? Or is it specifically Dagmar he is gunning for. 

Then the door opens, and my Pack members walk in. Because of the looks the Alphas are giving Dagmar, I begin to think that I was correct, they are gunning for her. Then the remark of Alpha Adam’s son, Andrew, has me fighting down Cole once again. “Fuck, Cole. Calm down. We have to be careful.” I say. “That Pup needs to be put in his place. We cannot allow anyone to speak to our Babygirl like that.” He growls. 

“Let him go, Dagmar.” I say, as I step behind her and I almost grin at her rebottle. James points out to Andrew what her rank is and that he better refrain from any comments towards her. Even though we both know that he will not. Dagmar pulls her machete away from his throat and releases him.

As everyone settles down and returns to their seats, Maddox puts his hand on my lower back and whispers in my ear: “In a few minutes you will be able to put all of them in their places.” 

Ishiver as his breath reaches my ear. Luckily for me, Maddox thinks I am excited to put them in their 

place and then he also returns to his seat. It is a good thing Maddox does not look into it too much, otherwise he might find out the truth. 

The four Alphas start talking about the Evil Moon Pack and my mind starts to wander. Looking at me, it would seem that I am far in thought, but you could not be farther from the truth. I see everything that is going on around me. 

She–wolves that are looking lustfully at Maddox, Alphas that are giving me dirty looks, Omegas walking in with refreshments. I see it all and that is why I am so damn good at my job. 

I see two She–wolves whispering and looking in my direction. That sets off alarms, and I tune in on their conversation. Normal Werewolves would not be able to hear them with all the chatter that is going on, but 

I can. 

As I suspected they are talking about me and it seems that they saw that Maddox put his hand on my back, one of them says: “I think she got the job, because she is his whore.” And they both start to giggle. 

Fury is radiating from me, and everyone close to my proximity can feel it. Jenna grabs my arm and Sam steps in front of me and because of that I tune out the conversation. 

But I know it is too late, Maddox will ask me what that was about as soon as we are back in our temporary home. And I am afraid that he will be able to put the puzzle pieces together. 

Let’s just hope that I can talk myself out of this one, because it is getting more and more difficult. 

Because of this, Maddox decides to speed things up and asks about the training area. Alpha Adam and Alpha Jonas look at one and other, but Uncle James is already talking. 

He tells them that we have to keep training and that we would like to know how big the training area is and the schedule of their warriors. He explains that we would like to avoid interfering with their schedule.

But then he turns his attention to Maddox and does that for which I have hoped. “Is there a chance that your Warriors will be able to train our Warriors? After all your Warriors are Lycans and they might be able to teach us a thing or two.” 

Maddox turns to me and asks me if I can fit that in with our training schedule. “That depends on the size of the training field and the number of Warriors they have.” 

Looking at Alpha Adam, I wait for a response. And they do not fail to deliver. Alpha Jonas tells us there is a huge piece of land, which lies between their territories, which they use. 

He explains that they have built fences, a gate, dressing rooms, and a training field out there.
