Margaret was not dense. She had a suspicion that Demi was trying to lure her away.

"Demi, what happened? Why are police officers from Lynora City looking for you?" Margaret pulled Demi to the side, her voice filled with concern.

"Don't worry, Grandma. I didn't do anything illegal," Demi replied, looking towards the front door. "Isn't that right, officers?"

"That's right, madam. Ms. Moone hasn't done anything illegal. We're just here to ask her some questions," Zack replied.

"If it's not illegal, then why can't I listen in?" Margaret shot Demi a sharp look.

"I'm a bit short on some herbs, and I can't leave right now," Demi said earnestly.

In the end, Demi wasn't able to lure Margaret away. Margaret knew Demi too well. She knew Demi wouldn't let her know anything when something bad had happened.

Demi sat across from the two police officers in the courtyard. Margaret poured water for the guests using the same porcelain bowls as always.

"Are you Demi Moone? Your national identification number is…" Zack read out a string of numbers from his notepad.

"Yes, that's me." Demi nodded her head.

On the other side, Henry turned on the recording device and started jotting down notes.

"Around 10:20 am on August 13, a pile-up car accident occurred on National Highway 103. Were you there during the accident?" Zack asked.

"Demi, you were in a car accident? When did this happen? Why didn't I hear you talk about it?" Margaret was so shocked that she almost stood up from her chair.

Demi took a deep breath and pondered on what to say.

Both police officers also noticed Demi's hesitation. They knew Demi would hold back on her answers if Margaret were around.

"Madam, it would be inconvenient for us during the inquiry if there's someone else present. Could you step away for a while?" Zack looked at Margaret.

"I'll just sit quietly and listen. I won't talk anymore." Margaret quickly waved her hands.

"Madam, why don't you go outside for a walk? If it's inconvenient for you, we can take Ms. Moone back to the police station for questioning," Zack replied with a smile.

Margaret fell silent.

"Is it okay if I go inside?" Margaret pointed to the house as a last attempt.

"What's your relationship with the Pitt family?" Zack moved on to the next question.

Demi didn't know what to say for a moment.

"In other words, do you know the real relationship between you and the Pitt family?" Zack continued.

Demi stayed quiet.

"We came after such a long time because we had several cases to handle being the first reason. The second reason is that we're investigating your real identity. Based on our findings, you're the biological daughter of Mr. Stephan Pitt and Ms. Michelle Leary. Do you personally know this?" Zack asked.

"I know this." Demi nodded promptly.

None of them noticed the reaction of the person in the house. Felix was frozen in shock.

Felix couldn't believe that Demi was actually the daughter of the Pitt family and not their housekeeper.

At first, he thought there was no need to involve the military to investigate a young woman since the military was busy with missions. Instead, he had just let the people from his company look into it. But in the end, the information turned out to be wrong.

"Then, do you know how the switch happened? Do you know the person who did it?" Zack continued to ask.
