"I'm not guaranteeing anything." Demi raised her gaze and asked coolly, "Which doctor can make that kind of promise? I've said all I needed to say, so do what you want with that."

The six West siblings fell silent, fuming. They thought Demi was way too cocky, acting like their concerns meant nothing.

To make matters worse, Benedict egged them on. He said, "Exactly! Who said a doctor can guarantee anything? You get a mild cold, and no doctor promises you'll be fine in a week!"

Wilson looked frustrated. "Dad, she was the one who promised it earlier."

Benedict sneered. "Can't she just take back her promise? If you all don't like it, she can stop guaranteeing it. Is that so hard to accept?"

One of the siblings, Zara, snapped, "Dad, whose side are you on?"

"I'm on the side of logic!" Benedict declared, tapping his cane emphatically. "You all agreed that she—the very doctor who saved my life twice—should guarantee my condition. Is that logical?"

The room fell silent again.

Millie, though her face flushed with determination, insisted, "Then, if she won't guarantee it, we won't let you come home!"

Benedict shot back, his eyes blazing, "Do you dare? I'm still sharp enough to make my own decisions!"

Before Millie could retort, Demi interjected coolly, "Mr. West Senior, your heart isn't what it used to be. Getting worked up like this is just asking for trouble."

Her warning hushed Millie and the others.

Carson West quickly tried to smooth things over. "Alright, Dad. Let's calm down and talk this through."

Demi's tone turned icy as she repeated, "I'll say it one more time—ease up on him. Let him live his life the way he wants. If I see you pushing him this hard again, I won't hesitate to walk away. I worked so hard to save him, only to have him driven to death by his own kids!"

"What do you mean by that? How can you talk like that? What exactly do you mean that we're driving him to his death?" Zara exploded with anger.

Benedict's face darkened, and he clutched his chest. "You're nearly driving me to death with all this bickering!" he roared, his voice thick with anger and pain.

"Dad..." The siblings cried out in alarm as they rushed to his side.

Benedict slumped against the couch, his hand pressed to his chest as he struggled for breath.
