As soon as the call connected, Stephen said respectfully, "Mr. Walter, I have a question I'd like to ask."

Dylan Walter was a renowned figure in their circle. Wealthy elites would line up with fortunes in hand just to beg for a sliver of his wisdom.

After listening to Stephen's concerns, the line went silent for a long moment before Dylan finally spoke.

"Firstly, it's possible that your daughter's oath had caught the attention of the Great Almighty. And if she was lying… well, the lightning was a warning. The odds of that are slim though. After all, countless souls exist in this world, and the Great Almighty doesn't take notice of every single one."

"Are there any other possible explanations?" Stephen pressed urgently.

"The other explanation is that an enlightened sage nearby was communing with the Great Almighty, and your daughter's vow happened to reach the Great Almighty's ears.

"Regardless, your daughter must atone. If she's done wrong, she should apologize, make amends, and beg the Great Almighty for forgiveness. Otherwise, not only will her fortune suffer, but your family's will too."

A chill ran down Stephen's spine. "Understood. Thank you, Mr. Walter."

Stephen offered a few more flattering words of gratitude before hanging up.

"So, did Annie really throw Demi's protective charm in the trash and lie about it?"

Stephen's face darkened. Ana had some nerve, inviting divine retribution in the form of lightning.

How humiliating. Were his company's recent struggles because Ana had pissed off the Great Almighty?

"Honey, what do we do?" Michelle asked worriedly. Dylan's words had shaken her.

"I'll deal with her. She's going to have to apologize to Demi, then kneel and beg the Great Almighty for forgiveness. Give me the director's number," Stephen replied icily.

Since Michelle and Daniel had been the ones in contact with the show's production, Stephen didn't have the director's contact information saved.

"Okay." Michelle scrambled for her phone.

Just then, Daniel's phone rang. He glanced at Stephen and said, "It's someone from the production team."

Daniel had saved the director's number and those of the crew members assigned to Ana, as he was worried about his sister.

Stephen's jaw clenched. He wanted to reach through the damned phone and shake Ana.

She was still lying? Even now?

"If you refuse, don't bother coming home. As far as I'm concerned, I have no daughter."

Ana protested in between sobs, "Dad! I want to go home. You can't do this to me."

Michelle leaned closer and said gently, "Annie, don't cry. Your father's only trying to protect you. He spoke to Mr. Walter. Mr. Walter said that if you don't apologize to Demi and repent, it won't just ruin your life. It'll ruin ours too."

Ana asked weakly, "Did Mr. Walter really say that?"

"Why would I make this up? Just follow your dad's instructions."

Ana paused, choking back tears. Finally, she said between sobs, "Fine. I'll apologize to Demi."
