A warm feeling spread through Sierra's heart, and the corners of her lips curved up slightly.

She handed the unopened bottle of milk to the security guard, saying, "Thank you for helping me earlier."

The guard quickly waved his hand in refusal. "No worries, Ms. Shaw. It was nothing. No need to thank me."

However, Sierra insisted on him taking it by placing the bottle of milk on his desk. "It's just a bottle of milk. Please take it."

With that, she turned and left.

The guard wanted to chase after her to return it, but a car that needed to be registered had pulled up. By the time he was finished, Sierra was already out of sight.

She didn't know how she should face Theo.

He could almost imagine Sierra holding her phone, struggling to think what to say. His lips curved up into a faint smile, and he decided to video call her.

Sierra was startled when the video call notification popped up on her phone. She then declined the call without thinking, but the moment she did, she regretted it.

She could have just ignored it and pretended that she had not seen him calling. Why did she have to decline his call?

She was an idiot.

Just as she was busy berating herself, a message from Theo popped up. "Why did you decline my call?"

She bit her lip, her mind going blank. Then, she impulsively replied, "I'm in the shower, so it's inconvenient."
