Lauren's eyes darted around, and she almost blurted out that she was the thief. She waited for a while, but Hayley still hadn't come back, making her feel a little anxious.

When she noticed that Sierra was about to skirt around them and leave, she desperately made up an excuse to confront Sierra.

"You smashed a cake on me and ruined my dress. Pay up!"

Sierra frowned and cast an inquisitive glance at Lauren. "Did you just ask me to pay for your dress?"

She thought about how the waitress deliberately made her leave her purse behind, and she guessed that someone had done something with it.

Tightening her grip over her luster handbag, Sierra intended to open it up and look inside. However, Lauren was standing before her, forcing her to fight her urge.

She walked over and retorted, "It's only natural that the Crowford family raised their children better than the Shaw family could. As for the dress, you can send me the receipt tomorrow, and I'll arrange for the payment, no matter the price."

Lauren had never expected Sierra to admit fault and agree to compensation this easily. All of a sudden, she no longer had any reason to stop Sierra from leaving.

Sierra was about to walk away when Lauren hurriedly reached out and gripped her hand. "No, you can't leave."

She struggled and tried to shake Lauren off, but the people who came over with Lauren subdued her. Casting a cold glance at Lauren, Sierra asked, "What on earth are you guys trying to do?"

Lauren noticed that she had help, and she let out a sigh of relief at once. Then, she said triumphantly, "Nothing. It's just that you're leaving in such a hurry that it looks like you're feeling diffident."
