Mr. Thompson, the CEO, stood in the doorway, his face red with anger. 

Jessica froze. 

I smirked, my voice dripping with disdain.

"Mr. Thompson wants to talk to you about the embezzlement." 

At first, Jessica denied everything. 

But when Mr. Thompson played the recording I'd given him, she broke down. 

She dropped to her knees, sobbing.

"Mr. Thompson, please don't call the police!"

"I'll pay everything back!" 

Mr. Thompson hesitated. 

After all, Jessica was his wife's distant cousin. 

He glanced at me, unsure. 

I'd met Mr. Thompson during my PhD program, introduced by my advisor. 

When his company hit a snag, I'd helped him fix it. 

He'd promised to owe me a favor, and today, I was cashing it in. 

I walked up to Jessica, looking down at her with cold eyes. 

"If you don't want the police involved, pay back the $300,000 you stole from my parents." 

Jessica wailed, "I don't have that kind of money!" 

I smiled cruelly.

"Not my problem. Pay up, or I'll call the cops myself." 

Jessica turned to Mr. Thompson, begging. 

He shoved her away in frustration, and she fell to the floor. 

Finally, Mr. Thompson agreed to give Jessica three days to repay the company's money. 

But my $300,000?

She had to pay it back immediately. 

Jessica nodded through her tears. 

A moment later, my phone buzzed with a notification—$300,000 deposited into my account. 

I smiled. 

Jessica was fired on the spot. 

"Karma's a bitch! Cheaters get what they deserve!" 

"Get out of here! You're an embarrassment to this company!" 

"Always throwing her weight around, acting like she owned the place."
