"Chloe, did you hear me?" Candy asked, noticing that Chloe seemed lost in thought.

She reached out and gave Chloe's shoulder a gentle push.

The small gesture startled Chloe. Her eyes widened, and she shouted, "Don't touch me!"

Her outburst drew the attention of passersby on the street.

Realizing the commotion she had caused, Chloe quickly turned to Candy, her face flushing with embarrassment as she tried to explain herself.

But Candy wasn't in the mood for explanations. With a puzzled look, she said, "Let me see your bag."

Until just now, she had thought the man's claims were just nonsense.

But after Chloe's outburst, she could no longer ignore it.

She wasn't interested in awkward interactions with Chloe; if that man had claimed to see medication in Chloe's bag, then she needed to see it for herself.

Chloe tightened her grip on the strap of her bag. "There's nothing in my bag, just some ordinary stuff."

"If it's just ordinary stuff, then show me," Candy said firmly, unwilling to back down.

The two of them stood face-to-face in the middle of the street, locked in a standoff.

"Alright, I'll go with you."

She figured they could talk about it later after they were out of the restroom.

On their way there, Chloe stopped to buy a bottle of water.

When they reached the restroom, Chloe entered a stall and left the door open, gesturing for Candy to come in. "Come in."

Candy hesitated, confused about what Chloe was up to.

"You want to know why I'm acting so strange? You'll find out if you come in."
